Doc & Company

Dr. Westchesterson is a genre defying artist who first emerged as an overnight hip hop sensation in 2012. His two videos “413” and “I’m From Western Mass” earned him the title of Most Famous Rapper in Western Massachusetts and cemented his reputation as a regional icon.

After an illustrious ten-year career as a rapper the Doctor switched gears and self-produced a modern-day Yacht Rock masterpiece with his 2022 album release “Better Days Ahead”. The album (available on all major streaming platforms) deftly captures the smooth So-Cal vibe pioneered by Steely Dan and The Eagles. A brief tour with his band, “The Headband” concluded with an electrifying sold out show at The Ocean Mist in Matunuck.

The common thread running through all of Dr. Westchesterson’s original projects is a keen sense of natural songwriting ability. As a bona fide Bob Dylan freak, Dr. W is well-versed in Mr. Zimmerman’s catalog and has garnered no small amount of attention around the Mystic/Westerly area for tribute performances at The Knickerbocker with his backing band, “The Complete Unknowns” and guest appearances with local faves Mystic Dead.

Currently working on the follow up album to “Better Days Ahead”, Dr. Westchesterson continues to evolve as a singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. His latest batch of songs are influenced by the likes of; The Beatles, Neil Young, The Avett Brothers, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats, The Beach Boys and of course- Bob Dylan. Ahead of the album’s planned November release, the Dr. has assembled yet another lineup of local all-star musicians including; Corina Malbaurn on bass, Josh White and Bill Light handling guitar duties and Ronnie Lewis on drums. The band will make it’s debut as “Doc & Company” on October 17th at The Knickerbocker and treat listeners to a sneak peek at tunes from the upcoming album.
