Los Soupermen, a super group in a town where all the music is super and all you can eat is soupy.
First performing on May 5th, 2018 at the Knickerbocker Cafe, Los Soupermen, like the Los Super Seven effort to which it pays tribute, has featured a host of great regional artists celebrating the legacy of the TexMex blend of tejano sound, organ bed and beatles backbeat pioneered in San Antonio by Doug Sahm and the Outlaw Country that called Texas home at the same time in the 70s and 80s. This fusion of popular rock and roll rhythms with regional style dances latin, swing, west coast or zydeco. No excuse not to fill your ears and move your feet. And this year featuring the return of Ward Hayden's big vocal panache.
A shoulder season Sunday. Enjoy Downtown Westerly in the afternoon and rock your evening at the Knickerbocker Cafe.
