SONGWRITERS NIGHT

Our second show featuring the area’s finest songwriters. This year’s performers represent great song writing  in a variety of styles. And a number of them have toured, opening for well-known classic and contemporary artists.

Kala Farnham: Kala Farnham is an award-winning, multi-instrumental, musical story teller. Her music is influenced by her classical and theatrical background. Her songwriting and performance style have earned her numerous awards and accolades, including being named Connecticut’s State Troubadour.

Kathleen Parks:  Kathleen Parks is a joyfully energetic fiddler, singer, and songwriter. She tours with the renowned band Twisted Pine and with the duo Kat and Brad (with Brad Bensko). Her songs represent a fusion of pop, folk, and classic jazz.

Brad Bensko: Brad Bensko is a talented singer songwriter whose star seems to be on a great trajectory. His songs, though timely, display a hint of the past. He cites Roger Miller, Harry Nillson, and The Beatles among his influences.

Gene Parise: Gene Parise is a well-known area guitarist and singer songwriter, who has fronted numerous popular bands. His songs and his heartfelt delivery harken back to some of the best classic music, music he truly believes in.

Brian Gore: Brian Gore comes to us from Texas, via New London, CT. His music has been described as a mix of Leadbelly, Dylan, and John Prine. His songs are infused with a keen observational sense of humor.
