Virtual Youth on-the-mic

**OPEN CALL - YOUTH ON-THE-MIC**

Join The United Theatre and The Knickerbocker Music Center on Sunday, August 30th for our next YOUTH ON-THE-MIC event, an open mic series for 6th to 12th graders who want to perform, sing, or play music (whether original or covers) to an audience. As with the past two editions, this month's event will be virtual and can be streamed on The United Theatre website and The united and Knickerbocker social media pages (Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram) at 7pm on Sunday, August 30th.

Interested performers should be in 6th to 12th grade and live in Rhode Island or Southeastern Connecticut. Performers should take a video of a performance of an uncut, one to two song set that begins with an introduction complete with their name and their selected song and artist. Videos should be emailed to us at tony@unitedtheatre.org by Wed. August 26th. We will edit the videos together and premiere a virtual open mic featuring the performances at 7pm on Sunday, 8/30.

Youth On-the-Mic is our alternative to the many adult open mics out there. These events provide kids and teens with a place to play and a community of music lovers eager to hear them.
