Dion Knibb, guest vocalist, son of the late legendary drummer Lloyd Knibb, has recorded in Ja with the Fab 5 and has toured the US with the SKATALITES. Band History—

The band was formed in 2003, playing clubs and festivals around New England and the New York area.  We recorded our first album, THE ECHOBASS SESSONS in 2005, recorded live to ¼ inch tape!  In 2010 we released our second album, SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD,consisting of nine originals and 5 cover tunes, five composed by Thom O’Brien.

In 2008 Soulshot was invited to perform on the small stage at the Jazz and Blues Festival in Montego Bay, Ja. and so impressed the management that  they were called back in 2009 to perform on the MAIN STAGE along side the likes of Lionel Ritchie, The O’Jays, Chicago,  Maxi Priest and many more!  While in Ja in 2008 Soulshot also appeared at the Black Mystory Concert in Kingston and at several other venues about the country.

Soulshot has been the backing band for Jamacian legend Ernie Smith on many  occasions and has also backed the legendary Alton Ellis at the Rhode Island Reggae Festival, (Alton put a video from this performance on his website before he passed), Roger Robin from the UK, Doreen Shaffer, queen of Ska, and touring vocalist with the Skatalites, and Dalton “Screwdriver” Lindo on several occasions.

Current News—

We have just released our third album, SOULSHOT and FRIENDS with original tunes  by Thom O’Brien, Dion Knibb and Eric Williams and original material from guest singer/song writers Jonah Tolchin and Ernie Smith. It is available on itunes along with Shot Heard Round the World.

Mystic Dead is Southern New England's leading Grateful Dead cover band, made up of five lifetime Deadheads who came together in 2018 to pursue their passion of sharing the country's most amazing song book.

While the Grateful Dead were from Northern California, some of their most faithful fans, and most memorable concerts, were from the Northeastern US. From the legendary 1980 shows at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, to Ithica, Hartford, Waterville, Boston and beyond, the Northeast was a special place for the Dead, they knew they could count on the fans to dance the night away.

Mystic Dead and its five band members are based in one of America's favorite small towns, Mystic, Connecticut. Mystic has a great music, art and seafaring tradition that goes back to the 1600s.

Mystic Dead is:

Toby Kniffin - Guitar & Vocals

Ian Kelly - Guitar & Vocals

Ronnie Lewis - Drums & Vocals

Marty Moroney - Bass

Paul Sauvageau - Keyboards
